Jeffery Katzenberg Loves Rihanna
(The Brand, If Not The Person)

1Jeffery Katzenberg hopes that adding pop star Rihanna to DreamWorks’ upcoming animated films will be a mutually beneficial business move — but only if SHE STOPS ACTING LIKE RIHANNA!

According to a recent RadarOnline article, Katzenberg plans to “build an animated franchise around the 25-year-old in a bid to globalize and sanitize her image for the widest possible audience.” (Take a second to wash that icky business-speak off of you. There. Better now? Let’s continue.) Up first is Ri-ri’s starring role in Home, DreamWorks’ 2014 CG flick based on Adam Rex’s bestseller, The True Meaning of Smekday. From there, who knows?

Katzenberg is clearly not cagey when describing his love for her work:

“He sees a huge amount of money to be made there and wants to capitalize before somebody else does. He’s making pop-friendly movies and wants her to be in them.”

Oh, wait. Did I say ‘work.’ I meant, ‘marketability.’ And even then, there’s an addendum:

“It’s time for Rihanna to go from R-rated to PG-rated. This is Jeffrey’s firm opinion and he’s doing all he can to make it happen.”

Well, good luck with that, Jeffrey. In the two days since RadarOnline posted their piece, Rihanna has come under fire for staging a photo shoot outside a mosque, posting pics while taking a bath and Instagramming herself twerking in a bikini.

TWO. DAYS.

Kinda makes you wonder, does Katzenberg really even know who this Rihanna gal is, or is he did he just pluck her name at random off some ‘Hot 100′ list?

Let’s close with these words of wisdom from Rihanna’s mentor, Jay-Z, from his song, Song Cry:

They say, “You can’t turn a bad girl good
But once a good girl’s gone bad, she’s gone forever”

Fun fact: This was the line that inspired Rihanna’s album title Good Girl Gone Bad five years later!
